Robert P. Cogan

        Continuum Law was founded by Robert P. Cogan, a business and intellectual property lawyer with over 35 years of experience in both corporate and private practice as well as experience in operating management. His prior experience includes fourteen years as chief patent counsel of a Fortune 200 company, managing development and enforcement of worldwide patent and trademark portfolios. He negotiated multimillion dollar agreements, including software licenses, distributorships, and joint research projects. He has extensive experience in contracting with government agencies including Department of Defense, NASA, and NIH, as well as state agencies. He has conducted business and intellectual property litigation.

Eric M. Cogan

        Eric M. Cogan graduated from California Western School of Law where he held a Dean’s Merit Scholarship.  His legal experience in intellectual property includes copyright, trademark, and trade secret practice.  In the field of entertainment law, he has worked with musicians, filmmakers, and mixed martial artists.  Eric has participated in state and federal litigation, as well as business transactions.  Eric graduated with honors from The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with a degree in Film Production.  His films were exhibited in the CineVegas Film Festival.  His hobbies include screenwriting and practicing mixed martial arts.

        We work to meet the needs of clients seeking high quality work from experienced practitioners with a reasonable rate structure resulting from our cost effective business model. We serve established companies who do not have in-house counsel, and we consult to larger companies and their law departments.

OUR CLIENT PHILOSOPHY

 

        We see all our clients as equal and essential. We utilize the services of a junior attorney and a paralegal, where prudent, for cost-effectiveness. Alternative billing, e.g., flat rate, is available.

 

        You are paying a fair price for services. Therefore, we do not need to increase your bill with a variety of fees. We do not add charges for:

 

    • Routine telephone calls
    • Each document page
    • Photocopies
    • Faxes
    • Postage when not in excess of $15.00
    • Status reports on individual matters, or
    • Reporting actions by agencies and other parties (unless the report requires analysis and substantive work directed toward advancing the particular matter).
